BUG PARADE

Mushrooms, bugs, and one busy beetle

  • Centipedes wind down through the mushrooms — each one spells a word, one letter per segment
  • Type the letter on the head to lock on; each letter after that pops the head off and the next segment takes the lead
  • Every segment you pop leaves a mushroom behind, and mushrooms are what make the next centipede zigzag
  • Finish a whole word and the last segment blooms, clearing the mushrooms around it
  • Watch the edges: spiders bounce through your row, fleas drop straight down, and scorpions leave a sour trail on the mushrooms they pass
  • Any other target's letter breaks you off mid-word to answer it — what you had typed is kept for when you come back
  • Hit space to dart aside — two charges

SETTINGS

Difficulty

Sets how fast the parade marches and how many bugs are loose at once. Up to Normal your beetle sidesteps trouble on its own and a landed letter briefly shields you. From Hard both assists are off — keeping clear is down to your space dart.

Word set

A centipede is as long as its word, so a set of short words makes for short centipedes — more of them, cleared faster.

Keyboard guide

Fades a keyboard across the garden and lights up the next key, color-coded by the finger that should press it, so you can learn the reach without looking down. When stuck keeps it hidden until you miss three keys in a row, then shows it until you get one right.
